Grado is a council of the autonomous community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain, a parish of the mentioned council and a village of said parish, capital of the council. The council limits to the north with Candamo and Las Regueras, to the east with Proaza, Santo Adriano and Oviedo, to the south with Teverga and Yernes and Tameza and to the west with Belmonte de Miranda and Salas. It has a population of 9,980 inhabitants.

In the town several competitions and markets are celebrated throughout the year. Tapas contest, afoga'l pitu pinchos contest, autumn market, bread market of spelled, advertising local restaurants or typical dishes of the area (cachopo relleno (kind of stuffed fillets), fabada (beans, the most typical dish in Asturias, pot, arroz con leche (rice with milk), casadielles, etc).

Within the municipality there are several cultural attractions: free and guided visit to the ethnographic museum, continuous exhibitions at the House of Culture, visit to the village palaces of Indians, medieval wall, capilla de los dolores, etc.

The Niemeyer Centre is an open door to all arts and cultural events. Music, cinema, theatre, dance, exhibitions, gastronomy or words are the protagonists of a multidisciplinary cultural program with the only common denominator of excellence.

The Aquarium of Gijón, located on the promenade of Poniente Beach, has 2,000 m² of exhibition, 60 fresh and salt water aquariums, an auditorium for events, an educational classroom of about 100 m², and a recovery area for marine mammals and reptiles. About 250 species of animals including fish, invertebrates, mammals, amphibian reptiles and birds.

The permanent exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Asturias aims to satisfy all types of audiences, from the knowledgeable expert in the archeology and history of Asturias to the visitor who curiously comes to discover the history of Asturias.

The weekly markets in Grado take place every Wednesday and Sunday of the year. These famous traditional markets have always been known throughout Asturias. They give character to the most emblematic streets and squares of the town, forming an urban and human complex of great variety and colour. Therefore, especially during the Sunday markets, several thousand visitors come to the village with the purpose of participating in the animation that not only provides the market itself, but also with the commerce and Moscona trade, which also remains open.

The Lakes are part of the park of Covadonga and are within the National Park of the Picos de Europa in Asturias. They are glacial lagoons formed by lakes Enol, La Ercina and a smaller one called El Bricial, which only has water when it melts in the mountains.

The Somiedo natural park is located in the central area of the Cantabrian mountain range and has 29,122 hectares. It corresponds geographically with the municipality of Somiedo, which is completely included in the park.

Naranjo de Bulnes is a calcareous peak of Paleozoic origin located in the Central massif of the Picos de Europa, in Asturias.

Playa del Silencio, also known as Playa d'El Gavieiru, is a stone beach, xogarral or pebble beach of approximately 500 meters in length, which has no direct road access and which is surrounded by "imposing quartzite cliffs". It is located in the town of Castañeras in the council of Cudillero, Asturias, Spain, being within a zone of special protection for birds.
